Website and App Usability Testing: A Legitimate Side Income Source

I’ve had my fair share of dry spells when it comes to freelancing. That’s where side income sources like website and app usability testing companies come in.

Have you ever gone to a website and found it difficult to navigate? A lot of the bigger companies like to perform usability tests on how easy or hard it is to navigate their website, and they hire certain companies to help them do this. In turn, these companies will have a pool of usability testers on hand. That’s where you come in!

These sites will pay you $10 to $15 to record yourself using their site and make observations about what you like, what you don’t like, etc. A review takes about 10-15 minutes, so it’s pretty good money for your time. Signing up usually requires you to do a test video, so you must have a webcam for the companies which use video as a means of their usability testing.

Here are the companies that hire usability testers. This is being filed under “extra money” because it’s not a steady form of income. You must wait for invites, and then you have to hope that all of the spots haven’t filled up (that is usually what happens to me). But, it can be a decent way to generate extra pocket cash.
